Happy New Year! Donna and Larry celebrated the beginning of the new year by going to the review Forever Tango at the Post Street Theatre in San Francisco. The production was entirely music and dance. Tango is amazing. | |
| Jan 25th | Jack receives certificate for being on the President's list (straight 'A's). This is Jack's seventh consecutive appearance on this list. We're trying very hard not to brag on him but it's hard cuz we're all very proud of him and his achievement. | |
| Jan 29th | Spencer's first baseball practice. He got drafted by the Braves. I think that we're lucky. It looks like a good team with an excellent coaching staff and a good group of parents. Not sure what to expect for wins and loses this year though. Could be good or it could be building year. But whichever way it goes, we know that we're lucky to hook up with this team. Can't wait for the season. Larry will be one of the scorekeepers. | |
| March 12th | Opening day of little league season (see Spencer's baseball page). | |
| March 16th | First game of the little league season. The Braves played the Red Sox. Game was tied at 5 all after six innings. Will be continued at a later date. | |
| March 12th-21st | Don and Linda visit. Don, Larry and Jack do some mountain bike rides in the area (see Larry's pages in cycling section). On the 21st, Don and Linda head South just in front of a big rain storm. | |
| April 9th | The Braves win their first game of the season. | |
| April 10 | Jack gets his new Bullit. This is a Santa Cruz mountain bike frame to replace his trashed Weyless frame (see pictures). He's been waiting for it for weeks. | |
| April 12 - 15 | Spencer goes to Science Camp | |
| April 17th | Jack and Larry go to the Sea Otter Classic | |
| April 21st | Jack receives his eight consecutive President's List award (straight 'A's) | |
| April 30 - May 1 | Larry does the Vallejo Regatta | |
| May 25th | Start replacing the roof (see pictures) | |
| June 6th | Last game for the Braves. This was the first game of the playoffs which the Braves lost to the Cubs (4-3). The Braves finished the season in third place. | |
| June 9th | Both Jack and Spencer graduate from their schools. Spencer was promoted to Scotts Valley Middle School. Jack graduated from Scotts Valley Middle School. He finished SVMS with straight A s in all three years of his attendence. We're very proud of him. | |
| June 26th - July 3rd | Larry helps deliver a sailboat from Seattle to San Francisco. See Delicate Balance Delivery | |
| July 13th - July 30th | Family vacation. We chartered a boat from Bellingham, Washington. Traveled through the Gulf Islands up to Princess Louisa Inlet. | |
| Late August | Don finishes roof with all the skylights and other upgrades... it looks sweet! | |
| August 29th | The boys begin their next school year. Spencer starts middle school in the sixth grade and Jack begins high school in the ninth grade. | |
| September 15th | After more than 23 years, Larry retires from HP. | |
| September 19th | Larry starts at a company that is soon bought out by Philips | |
| Oct 20th | Don returns and we begin our deck/patio project | |
| November 20th | Spencer completes his first year of comp soccer. He mostly played defense. Pictures will be on his page soon. | |
