We took the opportunity to visit the farm and catch the Bauer family reunion that takes place
almost every year on Grandma Bauer's birthday at the end of June. This is fun for all of us because
we get to visit the farm and see everyone again. It's also an opportunity to get away from the high
stimulas of the Bay Area. It's great to see the boys get in touch with Donna's past and develop
relationships with their mom's side of the family. Larry was born in Minnesota so it's also fun for
him to revisit the places of his childhood memories. He also likes hangin' out at the farm.
Before visiting the farm, we played a little in the Minneapolis area. We went to the Mall of America. That
was absolutely amazing to us bumpkins from California. We don't have anything quite like that around here.
We
also made a little stop at an arcade with a go-cart track for some racing. But the week was spent primarily
at the farm. We played cards, climbed on the farm machinery, ate, explored the barn, helped prepare for the
reunion, toured nearby Milaca, played Monopoly, did some shopping in St. Cloud, went for walks, visited
family
and tried
to help out with the chores. It was a delightful change for us. But too soon it was time again for us
to fly back to California.
