Mt. Tamalpias and parts of San Francisco
Dec. 23rd
On December 23rd (Christmas minus two in kid talk), we went off on a little family outing to San Francisco. It doesn't seem like much cuz we live here but actually we hardly ever go to the city. Actually we didn't really go to the city, we only drove through it to get to Mt. Tam (Tamalpias) which we climbed to the observation deck at the top. It was a gorgeous day to be up there. You could see forever. In one direction you could make out Pt. Reyes. In the other direction you could see buildings all the way down in San Jose. We took a bunch of pictures but of course they don't do the view justice. After Mt. Tam we crossed back over the bridge to watch the sunset near Baker Beach. Then we went on a little night time visit of The Conservatory. This is a greenhouse like building with an incredible history located in Golden Gate Park. There are many varieties of exotic plants inside. It's not the most stimulating place to be but it's fun if you can chill a little. After that we drove home. I think we'll be taking more of those little excursions in the future. We live in such an incredible place. We need to explore it. |
