For our 2005 vacation, we chartered a boat for two weeks to sail through the Canadian Gulf Islands. We also took a side trip up to the Princess Louisa Inlet. This inlet is almost spiritual. I compare it to Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness... only in reverse. The closer we got to Chatterbox Falls in the Inlet the more amazing the scenery became.
In addition to the sailing portion of the trip we also visited Vancouver Island, Victoria and Butchart Gardens before picking up our charter. And we visited Seattle afterwards. For the sailing portion of the trip, our strategy was to drive the boat (and crew) hard to get to Princess Louisa Inlet (four days) then dilly dally through the Gulf Islands on the return.
I have divided the pictures from our travels into sections. There is the Vancouver Island with the Ferry ride, Victoria, Butchart Gardens and the ferry ride back to the U.S. Then there is the sailing which is divided up into the voyage up to Princess Louisa Inlet, the inlet itself, and the voyage back through the Gulf Islands. Finally, there is the section after we returned the boat which we spent in Seattle.
We know that there are WAY too many pictures in here. I know that it seems like we have over done it. However, this site has many uses to us; One of which is as a portable photo album. So we didn't do very much to edit what went in here. I hope this isn't troublesome.
Enjoy...
